Healthy Volunteers Wanted for ME/CFS Research!
What Is the Study About?
Our research focuses on post-exertional malaise (PEM), a hallmark symptom of ME/CFS in which symptoms worsen after physical or mental exertion and may lead to severe limitations in daily functioning, including becoming housebound.
We are looking for healthy volunteers to help us better understand this condition.
What Does Participation Involve?
Participation includes:
- 3 visits to University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) for physical and cognitive assessments, including a blood sample.
- 2 MRI appointments at UMCG.
- Completing several questionnaires.
- Wearing an activity monitor and heart rate monitor for 7 days.
Who Can Participate?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are a woman between 35 and 60 years of age
- Engage in less than 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week
- Do not have a chronic condition that causes fatigue
