Dr. Alexandra (Sasha) Zhernakova

Sasha Zhernakova’s research group studies the role of various genetic and environmental factors in common diseases and traits. Her group investigates the factors that shape the microbiome, including genetics, diet, medication use, and other environmental influences. She also examines the role of the microbiome in different diseases, such as gastrointestinal disorders and autoimmune diseases.
